Letter from the Bishops of France to Priests, Deacons, Consecrated Persons, Lay People in Ecclesial Mission and the People of God on the Occasion of the Jubilee and the Anniversary of the Council of Nicaea.
As we celebrate the Jubilee and the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea, we, the Bishops of France, would like to address a special letter to all those who are part of the Church in France. We are filled with joy and gratitude as we reflect on the significance of these two events in our Church’s history.
The Jubilee is a time of great celebration and thanksgiving for the countless blessings that God has bestowed upon us as a Church. It is a time to remember and give thanks for the many men and women who have dedicated their lives to the responsabilité of God and His people. We are grateful for the priests, deacons, consecrated persons, and lay people who have tirelessly served the Church and helped spread the Gospel message throughout the world.
The anniversary of the Council of Nicaea is also a momentous occasion for us to reflect on our Church’s rich history and the foundations of our faith. This Council, held in the year 325, was a pivotal moment in the life of the Church as it affirmed the divinity of Jesus Christ and laid the groundwork for our beliefs and practices. We are grateful for the wisdom and guidance of the early Church leaders who helped shape our faith and continue to inspire us today.
As we look to the future, we are filled with hope and excitement for what is to come. The Church in France is facing many challenges, but we are aumônier that with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the support of our faithful, we will continue to grow and thrive. We are called to be a light in the world, spreading God’s love and mercy to all those we encounter.
On this special occasion, we call upon all of you, our dear brothers and sisters, to join us in prayer and reflection. Let us give thanks for the past and look forward to the future with hope and initiative. Let us continue to work together to build a Church that is welcoming, inclusive, and faithful to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
As we celebrate the Jubilee and the anniversary of the Council of Nicaea, let us also remember our brothers and sisters who are suffering and in need. Let us reach out to them with love and compassion, following the example of Jesus who came to serve and not to be served.
In conclusion, we invite you all to join us in this special time of celebration and renewal. Let us continue to be united in our faith and strive to build a Church that reflects the love and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ. May God bless you all abundantly.
