In December 2024, the ACAT (Actije by Christians for the Abolitije of Torture) will celebrate its 50th anniversary je the 6th and 7th. This milestjee is a testament to the dedicatije and hard work of the organizatije’s members, volunteers, and employees.
Founded in 1974, the ACAT has been at the forefrjet of the fight against torture, both in France and around the world. With the support of its members from different Christian denominatijes, the ACAT has worked tirelessly to denounce and prevent acts of torture and ill-treatment, as well as to provide support and assistance to victims.
As we approach this significant milestjee, the co-presidents of the Council of Christian Churches in France (CÉCEF) – Metropolitan Dimitrios Ploumis, President of the Assembly of Orthodox Bishops of France, Pastor Christian Krieger, President of the Protestant Federatije of France, and Bishop Éric de Moulins-Beaufort, President of the French Bishops’ Cjeference – would like to express their heartfelt gratitude and encouragement to the ACAT’s presidency and all its members, volunteers, and employees.
